The fourth Sunday before Christmas begins what has traditionally been known as the season of Advent (a word that means “coming” or “arrival”). Advent is a time of preparation before Christmas, when we celebrate the coming of Jesus into the world. It is a time of waiting and rejoicing as we look back to Christ’s first coming but also forward to his promised second coming.

This year, on November 27th, we will be begin a sermon series entitled “The Songs of Advent.” We will be taking a look at the songs of Mary and Zechariah in Luke 1, as well as the songs of the angels and all creation.
