Give Grace and Forgive (Eph. 4:29-32)

In continuing his exhortation to the Ephesians to put off the old self and instead put on the new, the Apostle Paul addresses two issues that have the potential to destroy the bond of peace within the body of Christ if not completely put away from us: corrupting speech and unforgiveness. By allowing literally “rotten” talk to come out of our mouths, it is actually possible to grieve the Holy Spirit by whom we were sealed. By choosing to nurse bitter grudges and harbor anger in our hearts, we fail to show the mercy and grace of Christ Jesus to our brothers and sisters. “But that is not the way you learned Christ” (Eph. 4:20). In this sermon, Pastor Leandre explains the importance of giving grace to those around us with our words and forgiving one another just as God in Christ has already forgiven us (Eph. 4:32).
