Jew, Gentile, or New Creation? (Acts 21:17-26)

Acts Sermon Series at Elmira Christian Center

One of the greatest difficulties that the early church faced was the sharp division that existed between Jews and non-Jews (Gentiles). When we read our Bibles, it’s often hard for us to grasp just how serious this separation was. We certainly know what division looks like and estrangement feels like, however; just consider the year 2020! But the book of Acts reveals that the gospel of Jesus not only reconciles rebel sinners and a holy God, but it also reconciles us to one another in him. In this sermon, Pastor Matt shows that as new creations in Christ, believers are free to serve God and others in love. What matters most is not whether one is a Jew or a Gentile, but whether we have been united to Jesus by faith and raised with him to newness of life.
