The people of God, reconciled to him through the death of his Son, to whom we are united by faith, are to live in a manner fitting of God’s workmanship. In view of God’s mercy, having been called out from the world to belong instead to the family and kingdom of God, we are to no longer walk in accordance with our old nature, for “we were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4). In this sermon, Pastor Dave exhorts the people of God to put off the old self, to be renewed by the Spirit through the Word, and to put on the new self as God’s new creations in Christ Jesus.
