A Question About Resurrection (Luke 20:27-40)

Having silenced the Pharisees and the Herodians, Jesus was then faced with another question from the Sadducees. This time, however, it wasn’t a political question to entrap him, but a theological one to humiliate him; it was a question about resurrection. And Jesus’ response (just days before his own bodily resurrection) not only silences his opponents but sets before us the truth of God’s word, illuminates our lives with the light of eternity, and demands a response regarding the life of the age to come. In this sermon Pastor Matt shows how the believer’s union with Christ is not only a union with him in his death but also in his resurrection (Rom. 6:5), and explains that we have been saved in hope.
