Many Christians and churches today seem only to care about bigger numbers, emotional experiences, and especially “signs and wonders.” We think we need these things to convince the world that the gospel is true, that Jesus is alive, and that our church is successful. Yet while our God continues to be a miracle-working God to this day, an incredibly important truth has been overlooked. In this sermon, Pastor Matt shows that the church is a miraculous community that confirms the truth of the gospel. When Christians live as though the risen Lord Jesus truly is the King and Savior of the world, then local churches are the “signs and wonders” that follow the preaching of the gospel! It is through the church that the truth, the wisdom, and the power of God in the gospel is displayed.
