By God’s sovereign grace, Saul—who was a self-righteous Pharisee and a violent opponent of the Christian church—came to believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God. He called upon his name, he was baptized, and he joined the disciples in Damascus (the very people he came to imprison). But this story shows us that true conversion not only results in a new relationship to God and the people of God, but also to the unbelieving world. In this sermon, Pastor Matt explains that those saved by grace will be strengthened by grace to serve King Jesus. Those who have encountered the risen Lord Jesus by faith in his gospel will find all the motivation and power they need to preach boldly and suffer joyfully for the sake of his name.
