One of the most fundamental truths of life is that no one escapes death. Scripture tells us that death came into the world because of sin, and death spread to all men because all have sinned (Rom. 5:12). But Jesus of Nazareth made an astounding claim: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die” (John 11:25-26). How could he say something so profound? What evidence do we have that he is not a liar nor a lunatic? In this sermon, Pastor Matt explains that the story of Jesus doesn’t end with a bloody cross or a sealed tomb, but a risen King who conquered death so that those united to him by faith might rejoice in hope.
