Throughout the book of Acts, we see followers of Jesus both going and staying for the sake of the gospel. Some travel thousands of miles to preach Christ and establish churches; they go to give. Others remain in a local community of faith in order to encourage and equip the saints; they stay to strengthen. Yet through it all, the risen Lord Jesus continues to build his church. In this sermon, Joel Traylor shows that Jesus uses our going and staying to strengthen, mature, and protect his people, and that Jesus equips his church to safeguard his gospel. By his Spirit, through his Word, and within his church, Jesus is at work to transform his people more and more into his likeness to the praise of his glorious grace—and we all have a part to play.
