The main point of Paul’s sermon at Pisidian Antioch was that “God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised” (Acts 13:23). He began with a summary of Israel’s history to show that with the coming of Jesus, God had proven faithful to his promises to rescue humanity. But the question remains: How is Jesus the Savior? Since all have sinned, how can anyone belong to God’s kingdom family? In other words, how do we get in on these promises and receive all the blessing of enjoying God and belonging to him? In this sermon, Pastor Matt focuses on the work of Christ to show that an obedient life, an atoning death, and a victorious resurrection is how Jesus is the Savior. And this good news is a word of grace and life for anyone with ears to hear.
