The good news of salvation in Christ Jesus is not only that we have been reconciled to God but that we have also been adopted into his family. We are now “fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God” (Eph. 2:19). In view of this glorious calling, we are to walk in a manner worthy of the grace and love that we have received. The peace we now have with God is to be manifested in the church as the bond that sustains our diverse unity. Yet it is often the case that the light of the church’s witness is darkened, and nearly extinguished, by the very same divisions and hostilities that abound in the world. In this sermon, Pastor Matt explains how the church is called to be a living illustration of the gospel of grace by our humility, our love for one another, and our genuine unity.
