Having urged us to walk worthy of our calling, to put off the old man and put on the new, Paul now commands us to walk as children of light. For those who were once darkness but were now light and partakers of all the promises of Christ through the gospel, what fellowship can light have darkness? But not only has the church been called to mortify the flesh, having been brought out of darkness and into the light, we have also been called to “be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” (Php. 2:15). In this sermon, Pastor Matt explains that the church, as the community of light, is to expose the unfruitful works of darkness through gospel-driven lives radiant with the light and glory of Christ.
