Ever since the Fall and the entrance of sin into the world, pride has characterized the heart of man. We refuse to submit to God’s rule and continue to believe the lie that we must exalt ourselves to find true joy and fulfillment in life. The prophets were sent to expose the various sins produced by Israel’s pride and reveal God’s judgment against all who elevate themselves above him. But alongside their words of warning, there remains a glorious hope for all mankind. In this sermon, Pastor Matt shows that when we humble ourselves before the Lord, we find that his glory is our greatest joy. If we choose to rebel against God and exalt ourselves, we will only find ruin and misery. But when we exalt the Lord, only then will we find what our hearts have been looking for.
