As the Passover drew near, the chief priests and the scribes were plotting to destroy Jesus. But most tragic of all, “Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot,” who decided to betray him (Luke 22:3-4). Judas, being disillusioned and disappointed by Jesus, being controlled by the love of money the cares of this world, and being consumed with unconfessed sin, now opens the door to the direct and controlling influence of Satan. But how can we today avoid becoming such a willing instrument in the hands of our chief adversary? How can we keep from being devoured by the devil? In this sermon, Pastor Matt calls the church to trust in the finished work of Christ, to stand firm in the armor of God, and to put sin to death by the power of the Spirit.
