The Supreme Joy of Jesus (Luke 10:21-24)

The successful mission of the seventy-two signified that Satan’s kingdom was beginning to collapse (Luke 10:17-18). The captives and the oppressed were finding liberty, the poor were hearing the good news of the kingdom, the blind were receiving their sight—and it was all pointing ahead to the cross where Jesus Christ would decisively crush the head of the ancient serpent. Following their report we see Jesus, the Man of Sorrows, rejoicing in the Holy Spirit (Luke 10:21)! In this sermon, Pastor Matt looks at the reasons for the supreme joy of Jesus, showing how all Christians should likewise rejoice in the Father’s will being accomplished through the salvation of undeserving sinners.
