Psalm 91 has been a tremendous source of comfort, encouragement, and assurance for the saints of God through the years. Full of striking imagery, the psalmist communicates the omnipotence of our Defender, the faithfulness of our Protector, and the comfort of our heavenly Father. Yet we also know, from Scripture and often through painful experience, that God’s people are not exempt from suffering: “For your sake we are killed all the day long” (Ps. 44:22). Yet, though the afflictions of the righteous are many, by faith we believe that “the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Ps. 34:19). In this sermon, Mitch Bedzyk shows how, in Christ Jesus, we may rest assured in the covenant faithfulness and promised security of our God.
