Jesus, the baby born in the lowly manger, was the great plot twist in redemption’s story. The promise of a Messiah was made all the way back in the garden, in Genesis 3:15, and stretches across the pages of the Old Testament. Even in the final book of Scripture, we see a picture of this beautiful gospel story: “And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she bore her child he might devour it. She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne” (Rev. 12:4-5). In this sermon, Pastor Dave Leandre looks at the meaning of this wonderful child born unto us, and the promise of triumph and salvation for his Church today.
