Take It to the Lord in Prayer (Isaiah 37:14-20)

Isaiah - sermon series at Elmira Christian Center

For new creations in Christ, who have been born again by the Spirit through the word of God, Bible reading is like inhaling and prayer is like exhaling. Yet if we are honest, we all struggle to pray at times. We feel guilty when we don’t pray, inadequate when we do pray, and sometimes we feel like prayer is pointless. But there is good news for those of us who feel discouraged, guilty, or confused about prayer. Romans 15:4 tells us that the Scriptures were written for us to give us instruction, encouragement, and hope; and Hezekiah’s prayer serves exactly that purpose. In this sermon, Mitch Bedzyk looks at the motives, posture, and aim of prayer and demonstrates that real trust in God will lead us to depend on him and cling to his promises through prayer.
