An often neglected, yet absolutely essential, aspect of the gospel of Jesus Christ is his ascension. We are familiar with his life, his death, and his resurrection; we are familiar with the Great Commission, Pentecost, and the work of the Holy Spirit in the early church. Yet the ascension of Jesus – that pivotal moment when the Son of Man approached the Ancient of Days to receive “dominion and glory and a kingdom” (Dan. 7:13-14) – is nevertheless overlooked. In this sermon, Pastor Dave Leandre looks at this glorious and monumental event in redemptive history and its significance for us in these last days.
