Although the devil is called the “father of lies” (John 8:44), he is also known as the “accuser of our brothers”. His job has always been to accuse the saints based on the correct understanding that the penalty of sin requires judgment and spiritual death. However, through Christ’s death, resurrection, and exaltation he has achieved victory over the devil, who no longer has any basis for his accusations against those who are found in Christ: “ And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death” (Rev. 12:11)! In this sermon, Pastor Dave reminds us of Christ’s victory over the devil and that Satan’s rampaging on the earth is in fact a result of his defeat
