In contrast to the false doctrine of the legalists, which was only leading to ungodliness and worldly passions, Paul commands Titus to “teach what accords with sound doctrine” (Titus 2:1). Only healthy, gospel teaching will produce true godliness in the lives of its hearers. Then Paul describes for Titus what a godly life of good works will look like in the context of a local church as describes the different kinds of intergenerational discipling relationships that are to be taking place. In this sermon, Pastor Dave takes us through Paul’s description of a healthy church, challenging all to both disciple others and be discipled ourselves, in order that we might adorn the doctrine of God (Titus 2:10).
