It’s safe to say that most of us are drawn to the more exciting and extraordinary parts of the Bible. If we’re honest, there are some parts of Scripture that seem rather ordinary, that don’t grab our attention. The final major section of Acts, from chapters 21-28, is often neglected for these reasons. But while Luke’s report of Paul’s arrest, trials, and journey to Rome might seem less dramatic than the beginning of Acts, it nevertheless is inspired Scripture and profitable for the Christian life (2 Tim. 3:16-17). In this sermon, Mitch Bedzyk demonstrates that disciples of Jesus must be characterized by a love for the saints, obedience to God, and devotion to Christ. Here, we see Paul’s example of what it looks like to be an ordinary, faithful follower of the risen Lord Jesus.
