What are we to do when faced with trials, suffering, hardship, sickness, or death? How are we to respond when God’s timing and purposes seem to be the complete opposite of what we expect from him? The interweaving stories of Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood both point us to our compassionate Savior and what it really means to place our faith in him. We all experience suffering in this life and when we do, the issue will not be whether our faith is strong enough, but whether the object of our faith—who or what our faith is in—is strong enough. In this sermon, Pastor Matt shows us the loving power of Jesus and encourages the church to remember the steadfast love, abundant mercy, and great faithfulness of our risen Lord (Lam. 3:21-25).
