In the early stages of Luke’s gospel, before Jesus Christ is even laid in the manger, we are given a foretaste of his life, his ministry, and his mission. Gabriel tells Mary that he will be great, the Son of the Most High and holy, and will reign over his kingdom forever. Then, the Spirit reveals to Elizabeth that Mary is the mother her Lord. And here, Mary’s song of praise resounds with the mercy, faithfulness, omnipotence, and salvation of God, who “has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.” (Luke 1:54-55). In this sermon, Pastor Leandre explains the work of the Holy Spirit, the inexhaustible riches that are the blessings of God, and the faithfulness of God to carry out his plan of salvation for the world.
