Though surrounded by the enemies of our God, nations hostile to his sovereign rule, and spiritual forces of evil within and without, we nevertheless rest in God’s infinite wisdom, perfect justice, unchanging character: “Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases” (Ps. 115:3). We trust that his purposes will be accomplished and that his kingdom is forever. Yet, though we are prone to wander and to fall prey to idolatry, though we even boast in our own good works and righteousness, our God is a God abundant in steadfast love and faithfulness. In this sermon, Pastor Kyle describes the futility of idolatry and the hope we have in our God who has delivered us for the sake of his great and glorious name.
