Throughout the Bible, God’s people are presented with tests of faith. Like Adam and Eve, they have opportunities to prove their loyalty to Yahweh and receive His blessing. This brings us to 1 Samuel 24, where another king like Adam is presented with a test. In fact, in 1 Samuel 24-26 David will face three tests of faith in the wilderness. In each, he will be tempted to take what was not his to take.

In this sermon, pastor Matt reminds us that we must wait for God’s kingdom to come in his way and his time. It is our Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom (Luke 12:32), to make his saving rule known in our lives and in his world. And this means we can entrust our lives to him while doing what is good.
