The very first words spoken to mankind recorded in Scripture are well-known: “Be fruitful and multiply” (Gen. 1:28). From Genesis to Revelation, this theme of increasing and multiplying appears over and over again. Why? Because God is intent on creating a people for himself, for his glory. He is pleased to make the glories of his grace known through a people redeemed for himself. And ultimately, this plan of redemption was accomplished through the cross of Christ and the all-powerful, life-giving word of his grace. In this sermon, Pastor Matt shows that the risen Lord Jesus continues to build his church through the power of his Word. Against all opposition—even the curse of sin and death—nothing can stop God’s kingdom under the saving rule of his Christ!
