Hope in God (Pss. 42-43)

The Psalms of lament are a wonderful source of encouragement, relief, and hope for those enduring times of affliction. They have often served as the prayers of the saints throughout the centuries.Though both Psalm 42 and 43 are full of questions, grief, and doubt, and though our souls are often downcast and surrounded by the storms of turmoil and suffering, we find that we have a sure and steady anchor in Christ alone (Ps. 42:5, 11; 43:5). In this sermon, Pastor Kyle explores the realities of grief and doubt, yet ultimately the surpassing joy and peace found in God’s grace and covenant faithfulness: “By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me” (Ps. 42:8).
